I grew up in Minnesota and did my bachelor's degree there (at the U of Minn.). From there I did a master's degree at the Univ of Nebraska and a doctorate at the Eastman School of Music. I taught for a number of years at Idaho State University until I got my current job at Ohio University. I teach music history, organ and harpsichord.

My work is also a big "hobby." I love music and enjoy listening to it. I have a big collection of CDs and LPs. I also enjoy sports. I'm a very avid runner–usually running 50+ miles a week and running marathons, several ultra marathons , including two 50-milers! I love to watch tennis, though I haven't played for a few years now. I'm also a big fan of U of Nebraska football, the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. I enjoy reading and good movies.
